Introduction
We are a non-political Parish Council with six Councillors. We are responsible for quite a large area which encompasses Ford Street, Voxmoor, Thorne St Margaret, Standle, Wrangway, Wellington Hill (including Monument Road), Pleamore Cross, Middle Green and Holywell Lake. Follow this link to view a map of our area, which also encompasses the Wellington Monument.
Council Meetings
We meet at the Beambridge Inn on the second Monday of the month, normally at 7:00pm. There is no meeting in August.
Minutes and Agendas
The agenda for the next meeting is published on this website as soon as it is available, normally one week before a meeting. Draft minutes and previous minutes are also to be found on this website. Follow this link to our documents page.
Our Role and Our Responsibilities
Our role as a Parish Council is to serve the community, making ourselves available to listen to and respond to the views of residents. We are an essential part of local democracy, playing a vital role for those we represent.
We liaise with the relevant authorities, work with other tiers of local government, and give “grass roots” views on planning applications. We also consult on local transport issues, and in matters of crime and anti-social behaviour we work with Avon & Somerset Police.
Wellington Without Parish Council is legally obliged to meet at least four times per year, though in a typical year we hold eleven meetings.
